I found myself a spot on the bandwagon and what a ride! Suzanne’s writing is swift, compelling and skillful. The story is narrated by the unwitting heroine, Katniss Everdeen, a citizen of District 12 in Panem, or what was once North America. Gripping and suspenseful, no doubt.

The only qualm I have about The Hunger Games is that it provides an incomplete picture of the days before the formation of Panem and the world outside of it. If 24 teenagers are battling to the death on live television, why doesn’t anyone intervene? Still, I finished the trilogy in 3 days, so that’s saying something.
